2020 will be a year to remember for so many reasons. Most of those reasons are not real estate related but the Washington Park real estate market for anyone who has been involved in it this year will also live on in infamy. Several numbers stand out. As you can see on the chart, traditionally we sell the most homes in the spring. This year the market got pushed much later in the year and October 2020 saw the all time most sales of any month ever. Both University Blvd and Lincoln St also saw significant price increases.
To think that we would double the number of homes sold over 2 million in just one year was hard to imagine a year ago. The median sales price in East Wash Park is now $1,332,500 which is an 18% increase over the 2019 median.
